Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays as a kid…until the sugar crash hit. I’d eat so much candy my tongue would sting, my stomach would hurt, and I’d swear I’d never do it again (until next year!).
Now that I’m a mom and a nutritionist, I see Halloween a little differently. I still want my kids (and me!) to enjoy the fun, just without the artificial dyes, corn syrup, and chemical additives that lead to hyperactivity, tummy aches, and those dreaded post-sugar meltdowns.
